Mobile screening plant for the loading of pellets
by Michael Amann
The heavily expanding wood pellets market results in there being an increasing demand for storage capacities. It is frequently the case that empty halls and buildings are temporarily rented in order to store the wood pellets. The related relocations especially pose a logistical challenge for pellet loading facilities, as dust-free wood pellets of a high quality are to be ensured.
We have therefore developed and constructed a piece of semi-mobile screening plant for the screening and de-dusting of wood pellets in cooperation with the company Zellstoff- und Papierfabrik Rosenthal GmbH (ZPR).
The pellets are placed on the rubber belt box feeder using a shovel loader. This continually conveys the pellets to our screening machines, where the dust that is adhered to the pellets is reliably separated from the wood pellets. The pellets are then conveyed to the tank truck via an S&F troughed belt conveyor. The filtered dust is conveyed to a container after passing through a rotary feeder. The screening plant processes 60,000 kg of pellets per hour.
The compact construction enables the main machines to be placed on a roll away lower frame. This makes it possible for the screening plant to be conveyed to another pellet store.
